The Institution is named in the memory of our beloved soul late Wahed Khan. A lesser opportunist, as he was, could not learn beyond schooling. But he was a person of lofty ideals, revolutionary thinker and a great humanitarian at heart. He saw the dire need to educate the marginalized youth of the society, particularly his community to undergo a rapid change in the standards of their lives. In pursuance of his decision, he lend a helping hand to the poor students who excelled in studies.

Wahed Khan College of Education was his dream, come true. The Founder President of our Institution, Hon’ble Anwar Khan was well aware of the dearth of academic institutions par excellence in a tinsel town like Amravati. Thus a businessman ventured towards a new dimension in the field of Education led to the emergence of teacher training colleges. Now, it becomes the bounden duty of the teaching fraternity and members of the Institution to work with dedication and sincerity. This alone will enable the institution to gain credibility in the eyes of the general public and peace to the departed soled of Late Wahed Khan.
